Video Audition Submission Steps
REGISTRATION AND VIDEO AUDITIONS FOR THE 2026-2027 are now OPEN!
CYSO accepts auditions and students year-round. We understand things change as the school year progresses and families move mid-year. Please follow the audition instructions outlined below!
Rehearsals for the 2026-2027 season begin on Monday September 14th! Come join the fun!
At CYSO, we know that in-person auditions and chair tests sometimes don’t highlight students at their very best. All auditions will now be via video submission. Students can record as many times as needed in the comfort of their own home.

- Video uploads are now part of the registration form, making the audition process even more streamlined. When submitting your audition video, please:
- State your full name at the beginning of the video
- Include the musician’s name in the file name (e.g., JaneSmith_Violin.mp4)
Tuition & Fees
2026-2027 CYSO Tuition and Fees Total: $995
- This tuition includes a $175 non-refundable deposit to hold your spot
- Additional fees:
- $30 Audition Fee
- $40 Uniform fee collected separately from tuition (includes 2026-2027 season t-shirt and required concert attire)
2026 SPECTRUM String Ensemble Tuition (audition required): $600

Payment Plans
Easy and convenient tuition payment plans are only available by contacting our Accounts Manager, Cedra Kuehn, at cysocedra@gmail.com.
PAYMENT INFORMATION – as of 8/17/24 all payments to CYSO will be made via Quickbooks and payments will no longer be accepted through our website. Once enrolled in CYSO you will receive an invoice from our Accounts Manager, Cedra Kuehn.

FAQs
Where/when does CYSO rehearse?
CYSO rehearsals take place on Monday nights (6:30-8:30pm) beginning mid-September at Colorado’s Finest High School of Choice in Englewood.
How do I submit my audition video?
Please submit your audition video using the attachment link on the registration form. You must submit your video at the time your registration form is submitted.
When are audition videos due?
Videos are due at the time of registration- but no stress! This audition process is meant to be as stress-free as possible. See below for more details.
What should my student play for their CYSO audition?
Please prepare a selection of your choosing that exhibits your best playing! The video does not need to be longer than 2-3 minutes. Remember to state your full name at the beginning of your video!
When is the registration deadline for CYSO?
Please register/submit your audition video by September 1st to guarantee placement by the first rehearsal. However, CYSO accepts students year round as we understand families move and circumstances change throughout the year.
When will my student receive their acceptance information and ensemble placement?
Acceptance letters will be sent on a rolling basis beginning the week of June 9th.
What ensemble am I auditioning for?
Students will be placed in an ensemble based on multiple factors including: age, video audition, etc. The following aspects of your playing will be considered concerning your ensemble placement within CYSO:
- Overall technique/skill level
- Tone quality
- Rhythm and Intonation
- Musicianship
What are the Audition/Registration steps?
- Submit your Registration form and video (be sure to follow the criteria outlined above).
- Pay your $30 Audition fee (invoices for this fee will be sent from our Accounts Manager, Cedra Kuehn, via email).
- Following steps 1 & 2 you will receive your acceptance/placement letter via email from the CYSO office.
- Let the fun begin!
